about the utter lack of quality standards in the recruitment and training of on-job master\u2019s students by your school’s Faculty of Law at Nanjing University,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u4ee5\u53ca\u5bf9\u5b66\u672f\u4e0d\u7aef\u4e3e\u62a5\u7684\u642a\u585e\u6001\u5ea6\uff0c\u6c14\u5f97\u4e0d\u80fd\u81ea\u5df2\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n
and the evasive attitude towards reports of academic misconduct, which has left me utterly infuriated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u672c\u4eba\u5728\u4ee3\u7406\u539f\u5409\u5b89\u4eba\u5927\u4e3b\u4efb\u5434\u654f\u53d7\u8d3f\u6848\u8fc7\u7a0b\u4e2d\u5f97\u77e5\uff0c<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the course of representing the former Ji’an People’s Congress Director Wu Min in a bribery case,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u672c\u6848\u5ba1\u5224\u957f\uff0c\u73b0\u9e70\u6f6d\u4e2d\u7ea7\u6cd5\u9662\u526f\u9662\u957f\u5218\u8d5b\u8fde2004\u5e74\u81f32006\u5e74\u5c31\u8bfb\u4e8e\u5357\u4eac\u5927\u5b66\u6cd5\u5b66\u9662\u5e76\u83b7\u5f97\u4e86\u6cd5\u5f8b\u7855\u58eb\u5b66\u4f4d\uff0c<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I learned that the presiding judge of this case, Liu Sailian, who is currently the Deputy Dean of the Yingtan Intermediate Court, attended Nanjing University from 2004 to 2006 and obtained a Master\u2019s degree in Law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u5176\u7855\u58eb\u8bba\u6587\u300a\u516c\u8bc9\u6848\u4ef6\u5ead\u524d\u5ba1\u67e5\u7a0b\u5e8f\u7814\u7a76\u300b\uff0c\u7ecf\u4f7f\u7528\u4e2d\u56fd\u77e5\u7f51\u7684\u67e5\u91cd\u529f\u80fd\u7b49\u5de5\u5177\u8fdb\u884c\u67e5\u91cd\uff0c\u6284\u88ad\u7387\u8d8563%\uff0c<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her master\u2019s thesis, “A Study of Pre-trial Review Procedures in Public Prosecution Cases,” was found to have a plagiarism rate of over 63% after being checked for duplication using tools like CNKI (China National Knowledge Infrastructure).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u5218\u8d5b\u8fde\u8bba\u6587\u7b2c2\u90e8\u52068412\u5b57\uff0c\u6284\u88ad\u90e8\u52067289\u5b57\uff0c\u6284\u88ad\u5b57\u6570\u5360\u6bd4\u9ad8\u8fbe86.7%\uff1b<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the second part of Liu Sailian’s thesis, out of 8412 words, 7289 words were plagiarized, making up 86.7% of that section;<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u8bba\u6587\u7b2c3\u90e8\u5206\u603b\u5b57\u65707556\u5b57\uff0c\u6284\u88ad\u90e8\u52067259\u5b57\uff0c\u6284\u88ad\u7387\u9ad8\u8fbe94.7%\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the third part, out of 7556 words, 7259 words were plagiarized, resulting in a plagiarism rate of 94.7%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u8fd9\u6837\u7684\u6c34\u8d27\u7855\u58eb\u8bba\u6587\u80fd\u591f\u5728\u8d35\u6821\u8fc7\u5173\uff0c\u53ef\u89c1\uff0c\u5357\u4eac\u5927\u5b66\u7684\u5728\u804c\u7814\u7a76\u751f\u57f9\u517b\u662f\u4f55\u7b49\u4e0d\u8d1f\u8d23\u4efb\uff01<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That such a shoddy master’s thesis could pass in your institution reveals the irresponsible nature of Nanjing University’s training of on-job postgraduate students!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u9488\u5bf9\u5218\u8d5b\u8fde\u7684\u8bba\u6587\u9020\u5047\uff0c2024\u5e741\u670825\u65e5\uff0c\u6211\u7684\u540c\u884c\u91d1\u78ca\u5f8b\u5e08\u53bb\u5357\u4eac\u5927\u5b66\u5b66\u4f4d\u529e\u73b0\u573a\u4e3e\u62a5\uff0c<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Regarding Liu Sailian’s fraudulent thesis, on January 25, 2024, my colleague, lawyer Jin Lei, went to Nanjing University’s degree office to report it in person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u5b66\u4f4d\u529e\u7684\u5de5\u4f5c\u4eba\u5458\u8bf4\uff1a\u73b0\u5728\u653e\u5047\uff0c\u6211\u4eec\u8981\u53ec\u96c6\u5b66\u672f\u59d4\u5458\u8ba8\u8bba\u662f\u5426\u6784\u6210\u5b66\u672f\u4e0d\u7aef\uff0c\u6709\u56f0\u96be\uff0c\u4f60\u5982\u679c\u653e\u5047\u524d\u6765\uff0c\u5f88\u5feb\u5c31\u4f1a\u6709\u5904\u7406\u7ed3\u679c\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The staff of the degree office said: “We are currently on holiday, and we need to convene the academic committee to discuss whether this constitutes academic misconduct. It\u2019s difficult, but if you had come before the holiday, we would have been able to resolve it quickly.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u91d1\u78ca\u5f8b\u5e08\u4e3e\u62a5\u5218\u8d5b\u8fde\u7684\u6d88\u606f\u4f20\u64ad\u5f00\u540e\uff0c\u56fd\u5185\u591a\u5bb6\u5a92\u4f53\u8fdb\u884c\u4e86\u91c7\u8bbf\uff0c<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After attorney Jin Lei reported Liu Sailian, numerous domestic media outlets conducted interviews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u9762\u5bf9\u8bb0\u8005\uff0c\u8d35\u6821\u6cd5\u5b66\u9662\u548c\u5b66\u4f4d\u529e\u5747\u8868\u793a\uff1a\u5bf9\u5218\u8d5b\u8fde\u7855\u58eb\u8bba\u6587\u9020\u5047\u7684\u4e3e\u62a5\u5df2\u7ecf\u53d7\u7406\uff0c\u63a5\u4e0b\u6765\u4f1a\u8c03\u67e5\u5904\u7406\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In response to journalists, both your Faculty of Law and the degree office stated: “The report of Liu Sailian’s master’s thesis fraud has been accepted and will be investigated and dealt with.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u4f46\u662f\uff0c\u4ece\u6536\u5230\u4e3e\u62a5\u81f3\u4eca\uff0c\u4e24\u4e2a\u591a\u6708\u8fc7\u53bb\u4e86\uff0c\u8d35\u6821\u65e2\u4e0d\u516c\u5e03\u5904\u7406\u7ed3\u679c\uff0c\u4e5f\u4e0d\u5411\u4e3e\u62a5\u4eba\u53cd\u9988\u3002<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, more than two months have passed since the report was received, and your school has neither published the results of the investigation nor provided feedback to the reporter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u4e00\u7bc7\u4e09\u4e07\u4e94\u5343\u5b57\u7684\u7855\u58eb\u8bba\u6587\uff0c\u60f3\u67e5\u6e05\u662f\u5426\u6784\u6284\u88ad\uff0c\u5f88\u96be\u5417\uff1f<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Is it so difficult to figure out whether a 35,000-word master’s thesis constitutes plagiarism?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u5357\u4eac\u5927\u5b66\u9762\u5bf9\u6765\u81ea\u6267\u4e1a\u5f8b\u5e08\u8bc1\u636e\u786e\u51ff\u7684\u5b66\u672f\u4e0d\u7aef\u5b9e\u540d\u4e3e\u62a5\uff0c\u62d6\u5ef6\u4e24\u4e2a\u591a\u6708\u4e0d\u5904\u7406\uff0c<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nanjing University, faced with a substantiated academic misconduct report by practicing lawyers, has delayed taking action for over two months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u5bf9\u5f97\u8d77\u5357\u4eac\u5927\u5b66\u8fd9\u5757\u62db\u724c\uff0c\u73b0\u5728\u5927\u5b66\u7ba1\u4e8b\u7684\u4eba\uff0c\u5bf9\u5f97\u8d77\u628a\u4f60\u4eec\u5b89\u6392\u5230\u8fd9\u4e2a\u4f4d\u5b50\u4e0a\u7684\u4eba\u7684\u4fe1\u4efb\u5417\uff1f<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Does this delay honor the reputation of Nanjing University? Do those currently in charge at the university deserve the trust placed in them by those who appointed them to their positions?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u6700\u6839\u672c\u7684\u95ee\u9898\u662f\uff0c\u5982\u679c\u4e00\u4e2a\u526f\u5904\u7ea7\u5b98\u5458\u62d9\u52a3\u7684\u8bba\u6587\u9020\u5047\uff0c\u767e\u5e74\u8001\u6821\u5357\u4eac\u5927\u5b66\u90fd\u4e0d\u6562\u5904\u7406\uff0c<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The fundamental issue is, if a poorly fabricated thesis by a deputy department-level official cannot be addressed by the century-old Nanjing University,<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u4e2d\u56fd\u81ea\u4e1c\u6c49\u592a\u5b66\u4ee5\u6765\u7684\u5b66\u672f\u9053\u7edf\u8fd8\u8981\u4e0d\u8981\uff0c\u4e2d\u56fd\u5b66\u4f4d\u5236\u5ea6\u8fd8\u8981\u4e0d\u8981\uff1f<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Does this mean the academic traditions of China, established since the Eastern Han dynasty, and the Chinese degree system are no longer valued?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

with Nanjing University’s distinguished alumna, the Deputy Dean Liu Sailian, presiding as the chief judge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response, netizens in the country have pointedly commented: A law school student who dares to plagiarize at school will surely dare to fabricate cases as a judge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
